Temporary Solution for Running Steam Workshop Mods in GeForce NOW
Steam Workshop mods are not officially supported in our service at this time. Recent changes on the Steam platform required us to disable automatic mod downloading in order to keep all supported games running stably and correctly in the cloud environment.
We understand this limitation may be frustrating, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it has caused to your gaming experience. We are actively exploring official support for Steam Workshop mods in the future, but there is no confirmed timeline for this feature yet.
That said, we've developed a temporary workaround that lets you continue using mods for the 100 most popular games on Steam.
Note: This workaround does not work for games such as RUST, DayZ, and Project Zomboid. If your game doesn't support this method, please send feedback through the GeForce NOW app. We take these requests into account when planning future updates.
Instructions for using mods (temporary workaround):
1) Launch the game through the GeForce NOW app. You'll land on the game's page in your Steam library.
2)To activate or update mods from Steam Workshop, log out of your Steam account and log back in. Once logged in, you can subscribe to new mods or unsubscribe from ones you no longer need.
3) (Note) If you want to launch the game without mods, there's no need to log out — just click "Play."
4) When you're ready to launch the game with mods, click "Play."
Please note: You'll need to repeat this process (logging out and back into Steam) every time you launch the game if you want to use Steam Workshop mods.
